The Welsh sheep is the only purely black breed of sheep to be found in the UK. Its fleece is fine enough to be used in speciality products and is long enough to be combed. The fibre fineness is approx. 31-35 microns and the length, 80-100mm. Perfect for hand spinning, hand felting and many other craft uses.
This natural top is deep dark brown (almost black) color; it is a standard color by The Fiberists and is available for on demand ordering. Colors may vary from what they appear on your screen, dark tones may appear darker and blacker on your screen.
Finished items created from this top are recommended hand wash only. Since this top is 100% Black Welsh Wool it can not tolerate agitation while wet without felting. The Fiberists recommend all projects be hand washed in cold water to ensure longevity.
